			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Study Finds Menopause Symptoms Can Be Predicted</strong></p>
<p>The number of eggs left in a woman&#8217;s ovaries are  like the grains of sand in an hourglass, ticking away the hours on her  biological clock.</p>
<p>Researchers now say they may be able to predict when that clock will wind down.</p>
<p>And while doctors can&#8217;t actually count the number  of eggs in an ovary, they can measure ovarian volume. British  researchers say there&#8217;s a direct correlation between the two, and by  measuring ovarian volume with transvaginal ultrasound, doctors should be  able to predict when menopause will set in and how many fertile years a  woman has left.</p>
<p>According to the study authors, this information  will revolutionize the care of women looking for assisted reproductive  technologies, including those who were treated for childhood cancers as  well as women who want to put off starting a family for whatever reason.</p>
<p>Although information still needs to be validated  in clinical studies, its benefit is most likely to start with women who  are being treated for cancer and women attending fertility clinics, said  Tom Kelsey, co-author of the study appearing June 17 in the journal  Human Reproduction.</p>
<p>&#8220;If women looking for some sort of assisted  conception and their physicians know that they&#8217;ve got a long time till  menopause, then you could plan for a range of treatments,&#8221; said Kelsey,  who is a senior research fellow at the University of St. Andrews in  Scotland. &#8220;If you knew menopause was likely in four to five years, you&#8217;d  plan a different set of IVF [in vitro fertilization] treatments.&#8221;</p>
<p>Others reiterate, however, that the findings should be treated with caution.</p>
<p>&#8220;Should a young woman who is 30 years old go for a  test to figure out whether she&#8217;s got three, five or 10 years left on  her fertility? Should she make career decisions and life decisions? Are  these data good enough to make those determinations?&#8221; asked Dr. Alan  Copperman, director of reproductive medicine at Mount Sinai Medical  Center in New York City. &#8220;The answer is obviously no to all of those  questions. The predictive value of this test is not good enough to go  and tell someone to change their life.&#8221;</p>
<p>According to the article, eggs form in a female&#8217;s  ovary while she is still in the womb, peaking at several million about  halfway through gestation and then starting a continuous decline. At  birth, there are several hundred thousand and, when menstruation begins,  about 300,000. At about age 37, a woman has about 25,000 eggs left, and  at menopause only about 1,000.</p>
<p>The time at which menopause sets in is widely believed to be based on the number of eggs reaching a critically low threshold.</p>
<p>The authors of this study measured ovarian volume  with transvaginal ultrasound, then looked at the relationship between  ovarian volume &#8212; ovaries shrink as a woman ages &#8212; and number of eggs.  They then applied mathematical and computer models to predict menopause.</p>
<p>The study authors are negotiating with a medical  school to set up clinical trials. The idea would be to follow women to  see if their predictions were indeed correct.</p>
<p>While these authors have come up with a tool to  potentially help women plan their lives, a second study in the same  issue of Human Reproduction warned that women might not want to leave it  too late. Assisted reproductive technology (ART) could not be relied  upon to fully compensate for lack of natural fertility after the age of  35, the article stated.</p>
<p>The authors used a computer simulation model to  determine that the overall success rate of assisted reproductive  technology would be 30 percent for those attempting to get pregnant from  age 30, 24 percent for those trying from age 35, and 17 percent from  age 40.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Most of us have nights when, no matter what we do, we can&#8217;t fall asleep.  You know the drill.  They&#8217;re those nights when you&#8217;ve got so many things on your mind.  You&#8217;re worked up, maybe from stress, or money.  Maybe there&#8217;s street noise and it&#8217;s keeping you up.  Maybe you had a cup of coffee after dinner, and you&#8217;re actually stressed about it, because you recognize your body&#8217;s response to caffeine at night, and you&#8217;re thinking that you won&#8217;t sleep because of it.</p>
<p>There are those of us that have chronic insomnia.  This is a sleep disorder that stays with a patient for life.  You&#8217;d be surprised though, that more often than not, your sleepless nights, be they trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, waking up early or waking up groggy, are within your control.  Let&#8217;s take a moment to analyze some of the leading causes of sleeplessness, and if they&#8217;re influencing the issues you&#8217;re having.</p>
<p>In fact, many of the leading causes of sleeplessness are completely within our control.  Drinking coffee within several hours of sleeping is obviously not a good idea, as coffee is a source of caffeine.  Depending on your physiology, you might also do well to avoid tea, and even decaffeinated tea, as they also have caffeine, albeit in smaller quantities.</p>
<p>Alcoholic beverages are also best avoided, as alcohol, contrary to popular belief, is a stimulant.  Having a few beers before bed might make you pass out, but it will certainly affect the quality of your sleep, and you&#8217;ll more than likely wake up groggy, while wine and other alcoholic beverages can keep you from falling asleep at all.</p>
<p>Sleeping habits also play a key role in determining your ability to sleep.  Circadian rhythm is your body&#8217;s internal clock, which among other things, determines your instinct to sleep, and conversely, when to rise.  Going to bed and getting up at different times can make it difficult for your body to set its schedule, contributing to bouts of sleeplessness.</p>
<p>There are, of course, issues beyond our control, that can affect our sleep.  Stress is a leading contributor to sleepless nights.  There is no getting around this, whether it&#8217;s related to money issues, your job, relationships or other situations in your life that has you up nights.  Depression is another leading cause of sleeplessness that can&#8217;t be understated.  These are issues that we all face, and while we often can&#8217;t remove the causes of stress and depression from our lives, we can control how we respond to them.  Exercise, stress management, counselling and/or medication, when appropriate, can alleviate the symptoms of stress and depression and reduce the likelihood they&#8217;ll keep you from sleeping.</p>
<p>You can minimize your sleepless nights by maintaining a fixed sleeping schedule.  This means going to bed and waking at the same time every night.  Challenging as this might be, by setting a routine you allow your body to strengthen its circadian rhythm, making it easier to sleep and rise.  This will also have a positive effect on your sleep quality.  You&#8217;ll feel refreshed after sleeping.</p>
<p>You can also make your bedroom a conducive sleeping environment.  Use your bed only for sex and sleep, and resist the urge to read or watch TV in bed.  Keep your bedroom dark and cool.  A good set of curtains or heavy blinds should block light, particularly in the summer months, when the sun sets later in the evening and rises early.</p>
<p>Some people find that the noise from a fan helps them sleep as well.</p>
<p>Now, for those nights when, no matter what you try, you just can&#8217;t sleep.  Keep your alarm clock display out of sight, so you&#8217;re not tempted to look at it.  If you&#8217;re not sleeping after half an hour, get up and do something.  Reading is a good choice here, as it&#8217;s not overly stimulating and keeps you focused.  Then go back to bed.  Still not sleeping?  Try a few more times.  If it persists longer than a few hours, get up.</p>
<p>In situations like this, the body needs tough love.  Yes it&#8217;s highly unpleasant going through the day without sleep, but by doing so you&#8217;re making your body and brain even more tired.  You will sleep again, this much is certain.  By denying yourself sleep on these difficult nights you&#8217;re raising your sleep deprivation.  And very soon, your only instinct will be to sleep!</p>
<p>Then, once you&#8217;ve gone through your unpleasant, sleep-deprived day, do the following things.</p>
<p>Eat your dinner at least three hours before bed, so your body has time to digest the meal before you start shutting down for the night.  Refrain from excessive alcohol (this varies according to the individual, but more than two drinks several hours before bed is probably pushing it).  Don&#8217;t drink coffee, caffeinated soft drinks like Coke,  or even tea.</p>
<p>About two hours before bed, take <a href="http://www.orderalteril.com/ct/21075?b=15552">Alteril</a>, an all-natural sleeping aid that contains melatonin, a sleep inducer found in warm milk that encourages sleep.  Yet because the ingredients are natural, Alteril  doesn&#8217;t come with the dangerous side effects associated with sleeping pills, including dependance and withdrawal symptoms.</p>

<p>You will sleep very, very well.</p>
<p>The bottom line when trying to beat sleeplessness is to manage what you can control.  Don&#8217;t drink caffeine or alcohol, eat large meals or deal with stressful issues before bed.  Go to bed and rise at the same time every day, including on weekends.  Make your bedroom a sleeping environment, dark and cool, and use your bed only for sex and sleep.  Take a natural sleeping aid like Alteril for short-term sleeping problems, avoid prescription sleeping pills, and consult with your doctor in the unlikely event that your sleeping issues last longer than a month.</p>

<p>Abs.</p>
<p>Everyone wants a tighter tummy.</p>
<p>Guys want a six-pack&#8230; ladies want a slim, firm waistline&#8230; and yes, some want a six-pack too.</p>
<p>Why be sexist?  ; )</p>
<p>So needless to say people are freaked out to find that I train my abs in about 3 minutes.</p>
<p>Total.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s how:</p>

<p>Let me give you the dirty facts about my abs.</p>
<p>They are the worst part of my body&#8230; and one of the best parts at the same time.</p>
<p>The &#8220;worst&#8221; bit has nothing to do with muscles or even bodyfat most of the time&#8230; but SKIN.</p>
<p>Remember, I was obese&#8230; 46-inch waist and 38 percent bodyfat.</p>
<p>So my skin got pretty messed up. It never quite recovered from that and I have a &#8220;bit&#8221; of loose skin around my abs.</p>
<p>Drives me nuts. I may have it removed! ; )</p>
<p>But other than THAT&#8230; my abs are pretty good.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s a pretty recent shot (after a workout taken with an iPhone&#8230; so hardly a professional shot&#8230; but you get the idea&#8230; )</p>

<p>This is after THREE MINUTES of ab training done 2-3 times a week.</p>
<p>Let me spell out my thoughts on this:</p>
<p>     If you are training your abs longer      than 7 minutes a week you are doing      something wrong&#8230; or you&#8217;re just      wasting your time.</p>
<p>Sorry to break it to you, but abs develop fast.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s the BODYFAT you need to focus on.</p>
<p>Still, you need abs&#8230; and my HDT-Style Training in 7 Minute Body and 7 Minute Muscle will get you those abs uber-fast:</p>

<p>Before you do, let me give you a substitute exercise for one of the three I recommend during my &#8220;3-Minute Abs&#8221; routine (found in both books on the page above.)</p>
<p>Hanging leg raises&#8230; they are the best when done the way I show you in my book.</p>
<p>BUT some people do not have the gym or the straps I recommend.</p>
<p>So do this instead:  Leg raises on a Swiss Ball, bench or even off the floor.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s the tip:  Raise the legs, pause at the top for 2 seconds and blow ALL of your air out. Contract your abs HARD at the top.</p>
<p>Then and ONLY then lower the legs slowly.</p>
<p>If you do this right there&#8217;s no way to get more than 15 reps. I get about 8 before my abs give out!</p>
<p>That&#8217;s all it takes. You do NOT need &#8220;high reps&#8221; to develop your abs. In fact LOW reps work better&#8230;</p>
<p>You just need resistance&#8230; and my way of training gives you plenty.</p>
<p>This means a LOT less time doing the exercises and a LOT MORE time enjoying the nice set of tummy muscles you&#8217;ve built.</p>
<p>Sounds like a plan.</p>

But  as makeup expert Bobbi Brown, in his book &#8220;Beauty Rules&#8221; points out,  your eyebrows need to be filled in if you want your look to be picture  perfect.</p>
<p>Some of us are born with thin eyebrows while others have  thinned it by using tweezers; sometime some of us has even overdone this  thinning is quest of that perfect eyebrow that will so enhance our  looks! Filling the eyebrows is important; but we have to learn how to  fill in eyebrows the right way and with right instruments so that only  the best result is seen on your face. Here is the information of how to  fill in eyebrows properly that you can do at home:</p>
<p>First of all,  you will need some instruments to fill in eyebrows perfectly. The list  starts with a good mirror, then a brow pencil, brow powder and brow  brush. Last of all, you will need a light hold hairspray.</p>
<p>As for  the process, first sit down in front of you mirror. See to it that the  area is well lit and you can see yourself clearly on the mirror. Now  smooth the eyebrows in the hair-growth&#8217;s natural pattern. Use your  fingers for this job.</p>
<p>If you have sparse areas in your eyebrow,  fill them with a brow pencil. Use short and small strokes for this and  stroke in the direction of eyebrow&#8217;s hair growth. Do not create a  definitive line; but several small lines that mime the actual appearance  of eyebrow hair. Do the same for the other eyebrow.</p>
<p>In the next  step of how to fill in eyebrows, dip the tips of your brow brush into  your brow powder. Now brush with it across your eyebrow hair. Remember  to brush it in the direction of your eyebrow&#8217;s hair growth. For best  result, use sweeping long strokes from the innermost tip of the brow to  the outermost tip. Follow the same procedure while brushing your other  eyebrow.</p>
<p>To make sure that the hairs of the eyebrow retain their  color and stay in shape all through the day, spray it with a small  amount of light hold hairspray. Do not spray directly on to the eyebrow  which will hurt your eyes; instead spray it on your index finger and use  the finger to coat your eyebrows with the light hairspray. Do the same  to your other eyebrows next. These are the steps of how to fill in  eyebrows that you should know about.</p>

<p>The Food and Drug Administration has reported dozens of deaths among Viagra users. This seems an unnecessarily severe side effect. Concerns about the drug have spurred interest in  effective, natural aphrodisiacs without deleterious side effects.  Responding to this interest, I set off for the Amazon rain forest in  search of sex-enhancing plants. I traveled in the company of a Brazilian  shaman named Bernie Peixoto, a man skilled in tribal wisdom and the use  of plant medicines. <p>When I wrote &#8220;7 Minute Muscle&#8221; and &#8220;7 Minute Body&#8221; (the in-home version; both books come in the same package) I thought I was doing the muscle-mass crowd a huge favor.</p>
<p>I was right&#8230; and I was wrong.</p>
<p>I was right because the 7MM-style training has put serious muscle shape, tone, and size on people from all ages.</p>
<p>I was WRONG because it did more than just add lean muscle:</p>

<p>The short version of the science behind why this happens and a sample workout routine is included in today&#8217;s newsletter.</p>
<p>Yep: the workout I intended people to use for building muscle turned into one of the fastest ways to melt body fat.</p>
<p>Weird.</p>
<p>I say &#8220;weird&#8221;&#8230; it&#8217;s not that weird to me. I know why it works so well. But it was kinda weird for my readers.</p>
<p>     The secret is density training.</p>
<p>Density is basically getting the most amount of work done in the least amount of time. More work in less time = more energy.</p>
<p>     More energy spent = greater fatloss.</p>
<p>Fatloss (and muscle-shaping) is not an issue of length of time as much as it is an issue of work divided by time.</p>
<p>The body was made to perform in bursts, not in long bouts. This is why our immediate fuel sources (which come mostly from carbohydrates) are WAY too efficient&#8230; so much so that we store incredible amounts of fat from consuming too many of the &#8220;fast-fuel&#8221; foods.</p>
<p>The best way to combat this fat-storing problem is to use your body the way it was designed to be used: In bursts of fat-burning power that are intense, short, and highly focused.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s the basics behind density training.</p>

<p>Want a practical example? Great&#8230; let&#8217;s look at a 7 Minute Muscle chest workout followed by a 7 Minute Muscle &#8220;GXP&#8221; Cardio workout.</p>
<p>     Your total workout time:  A whopping 16 minutes.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s &#8220;TOTAL&#8221; workout and cardio time, minus a short warm-up.</p>
<p>After your warm-up, you would start with the first of two &#8220;Phases&#8221;:</p>
<p>The first 5 minutes is called The Power Phase.</p>
<p>This is followed by The Mass Phase (Mass is for adding lean muscle) which last only 2 minutes.</p>
<p>During the Power Phase, your weight you select for any movement (from a bench press to a push-up) stays the same. This makes it very easy to shorten your rest intervals between sets.</p>
<p>Your repetitions will be a maximum of 5 for your Power Phase using a weight that&#8217;s about 60% of your normal 5-rep max. You will rest as little as possible between sets.</p>
<p>The first few sets will feel light, but as time progresses this &#8220;light&#8221; weight will become more and more challenging. In fact you will drop your repetitions down quite low in order to complete the 5-minute Phase&#8230; and that&#8217;s GOOD.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s what we want:  As many repetitions as you can get during 5 minutes, but never exceeding FIVE repetitions, during your Power Phase.</p>
<p>Your rest intervals are up to YOU&#8230; you can rest a short or as long as you need.</p>
<p>     This is a very creative and personal workout!</p>
<p>Your goal is simple:  Get more TOTAL reps (called &#8220;Aggregate Repetitions&#8221;, or &#8220;AR&#8221;) than your previous workout.</p>
<p>This is what makes 7 Minute Muscle so unique: The progression is built-in.</p>
<p>Most people fail to progress in the gym because they simply do not track their workouts carefully enough.</p>
<p>With 7 Minute Muscle you don&#8217;t have to track an entire workout:  Only ONE number. The total number of repetitions, or your &#8220;AR&#8221;.</p>
<p>Simple!</p>
<p>Your Power Phase for a chest workout may look like this:</p>
<p>EXERCISE:<br />
Incline Machine Press (upper chest)</p>
<p>5 reps (rest 20 seconds)<br />
5 reps (rest 15 seconds)<br />
4 reps (rest 20 seconds)<br />
3 reps (rest 30 seconds)<br />
3 reps (rest 30 seconds)<br />
1 rep (rest 20 seconds)<br />
1 rep (end)</p>
<p>]Total AR:       22 reps<br />
Total Time:  5 minutes</p>
<p>Your goal next time is to get 23 repetitions using the same weight. Once you can get 5 repetitions every set it&#8217;s time to increase the weight for this movement.</p>
<p>You would then move to your Mass Phase (2 minutes) which would be a different chest exercise for TEN repetitions.</p>
<p>Same goal, same principles apply&#8230; beat your previous AR.</p>
<p>The end result is a 7-minute workout that shapes your chest AND burns a lot of fat due to the principles of time/energy expenditure and the fact that muscle burns calories.</p>
<p>You end your 7 minute workout with &#8220;GXP&#8221; Cardio. This is 9 minutes long&#8230; that&#8217;s it!  But your body is primed to melt off a lot of fat after your 7 minutes of intense weight training&#8230; and you will drop the fat if you do this workout right.</p>
<p>You start with 3 minutes on the exercise device of your choice (I prefer the treadmill.)</p>
<p>You work your way up to 85-90% of your maximum heart rate, or a perceived exertion rate on a scale of 1-10 of 7 to 8. No more is needed to get the desired results.</p>
<p>You stay at this level for just 3 minutes.</p>
<p>Then you cool down for 3 minutes.</p>
<p>     That&#8217;s IT.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s your entire cardio workout and weight-training workout&#8230; all in 16 minutes (about 20 with a warm-up.)</p>
<p>And you will progress faster, burn a lot more fat, and save SO much time you may have to take up a new hobby!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you have ever dealt with psoriasis you know the feeling of struggling with red, itchy, scaly skin. Do you know what type of psoriasis you have? Were you even aware there were more than just one type? There are, in fact, three main types of psoriasis and although the basic symptoms are the same, they are all a little bit different.</p>
<p>All forms of psoriasis affect the skin. They can cause a few different problems and if you are lucky they will only cause one problem at a time. Psoriasis is famous for the redness of skin and the shedding. There are two layers of skin, the top and bottom. The top layer is the old skin, it lasts for a few weeks and then begins to shed off on its own. The bottom layer is the new skin growth that takes over for the shedding skin. Shedding skin is a normal procedure, but it happens over time so that we don’t notice.</p>
<p>In psoriasis, we notice because the bottom lay tries to move up to the top before the top is ready to shed. This leaves cracks in the skin and gives it that red look. On top of that, the skin may start to become inflamed. If you scratch at the skin while it is flaky, red, and peeling, you could get weeping lesions and scaling on the affected area.</p>
<p>Those are the main symptoms for the basic three types of psoriasis: <strong>Guttate, Plaque, and Seborrheic</strong>. Plaque Psoriasis is the most common type of the disease. Each person is different, but for the most part it appears as patchy, thick flaky skin that causes itching and inflammation. If the skin is damaged skin gets injured in some other way, it is easily infected.</p>
<p><strong>Guttate Psoriasis</strong> mainly affects children and young adults. It often follows after a bout of strep throat or other infections and causes red bumps on the skin. This form is often misdiagnosed as an allergic reaction rash or a fever rash. The good news is that it clears up with antibiotics, the kind taken for the strep, and it almost never comes back again.</p>
<p><strong>Seborrheic Psoriasis</strong> is often mistaken for a serious cause of dandruff because it affects the scalp, ears, hairline, and forehead. Some medicated shampoos work to eliminate the flaking, but it can still be problematic.</p>
